Ingredients :

sugar
chili sauce
water
small red or green chili, seeded and chopped
roasted peanuts, coarsely chopped
In a small bowl, mix sugar with chili sauce and water.
Add chopped chili and transfer sauce to 4 individual saucers to serve.
Sprinkle chopped peanuts over the top as a garnish.
Serves 4
This sauce is known as nuoc leo. The liquid base can be made in advance; add freshly chopped chili and peanuts just before serving.
