Crispy Giant Shrimps (Prawns) Recipes

Ingredients : |
125g plain flour
1 tbsp oil
150ml beer or lager
2 egg whites
1 tbsp chopped parsley
16 cooked peeled giant Pacific shrimps
oil, deep frying
salt
Sauce:
8 tbsp Mayonnaise
2 garlic cloves, crushed
2 tbsp chopped thyme
1 tsp finely grated lemon rind
dash of Tabasco sauce |
Method :
- Sift the flour and salt into a
bowl, beat in the oil and beer.
- Whisk the egg whites until very
stiff, fold them into the batter with the parsley.
- Drop in the prawns and coat well.
- Heat the oil to 350-375G or until
a cube of bread browns in 30 seconds.
- Deep-fry the prawns in batches for
2-3 minutes until golden brown and crisp.
- Drain on kitchen paper and keep
hot while frying the remainder.
- Mix all the sauce ingredients
together, spoon into a bowl.
- Sprinkle the lemon rind on top.
- Ready to serve with hot shrimps
(prawns).
